ShakeTastic’s Charity Work

h20

ShakeTastic have worked hard to source and now retail our own branded bottled water which has been passionately and carefully selected.

Available from all stores or please contact us for bulk purchases to suit an event. Available as Still or Fizzy in recyclable PET bottles.

This refreshing, natural water has been bottled at source, the water bubbles to the surface from an artisan spring shadowed by the Black Mountains in Wales, UK. Keeping the buying and working process and operation within the UK.

Each bottle sold benefits Global Charities, such as The Just a Drop Foundation providing clean water to thousands of underprivileged families all over the World. A donation and percentage of sales is given at source bringing a whole new out look to Don’t Just Think it, Drink it! ®

Twenty-five lucky brothers and sisters of children supported by Noah’s Ark enjoyed an indulgent day out on Tuesday 14 February aboard a unique, fully modified London Double Decker bus. The ShakeTastic bus, which is based in Potters Bar, is the brain child of Josh Kettle, owner of Shaketastic Milkshake & Juice Bars.

The outing was organised by Dan Jones, Noah’s Ark Family Support and Siblings Worker who said “I’m not sure who had more fun at this outing, the kids or the adults. The bus is an amazing party venue. The children enjoyed playing with the Nintendo Wii, singing along with the Karaoke machine, and of course drinking the fantastic shakes. All in all they had a great time. Thank you to Josh and his team for making it such a fun day.”

This outing, and the regular bi-monthly meetings, form part of a programme of activities that are specifically organised throughout the year for the siblings.
Dan explains, “Since the programme was set up in February 2010, we have held 22 bi-monthly meetings, 15 outings and 2 weekend away trips. These activities give the siblings a chance to have fun and build relationships. They also provide them with opportunities to share experiences and feelings with other children that are, or have been, in a similar situation. Ultimately, we aim to make the children and young people feel less isolated and provide an appropriate support system.”
Dan is supported at these events by volunteers who have all received ‘working with siblings’ training, as well as members of the Noah’s Ark family support team.
Here’s what one happy child, Thomas, had to say after the outing, “This was a fantastic day out …it is great to be able to have fun and put all your problems aside. I enjoy meeting friends who share a similar life-experience – I can be myself.”

Speaking after the event Josh Kettle said, “ShakeTastic are pleased and proud to help such a very touching and worthwhile local charity. The commitment and the help that Noah’s Ark gives to these children and their families is fundamental and if we can help bring a smile to the children’s faces as well, then that is all we can ask.”
